Amber Heard was accused by Johnny Depp’s legal team of making “the act of her life” while saying her ex-husband was violent and sexually abusive.
The 36-year-old Aquaman actress testified this week in her ex-libel husband’s case accusing Johnny Depp of being aggressive and sexually abusive.
With the Pirates of the Caribbean actor, the Hollywood icon delivered heartbreaking testimony with the court of her life.
Depp is suing his ex-wife for defamation after she wrote an op-ed in the Washington Post about domestic abuse. Although she didn’t name the accused culprit, the actor filed a $50 million libel complaint against her, saying the story harmed his career and stopped him from securing gigs.
Amber Heard sobbed as she claimed Johnny Depp had’sexually assaulted her with a bottle.’ While filming Pirates of the Caribbean 5, the actress claimed that Johnny “threw” cans and bottles of beer at her at their leased Australia home. Johnny Depp denies ever assaulting Amber sexually or physically.
“As his attorneys predicted in their opening statements last month, Heard did indeed provide ‘the performance of her life’ in her direct examination,” a spokeswoman for the actor told The Mirror after Amber’s testimony.
“Mr Depp’s recollections have remained the same during the six agonising years since Ms Heard’s first charges were made, while Ms Heard’s accounts have continued to grow new and convenient elements.
“His truth – the truth – remains the same regardless of the context in which it is conveyed.
“Depp’s team’s future cross-examination will be most telling, highlighting the numerous falsehoods Heard has now attempted to pass off as fact throughout her muddled evidence.”
“As indicated by the statement provided, Mr Depp’s defamation claim is coming apart so swiftly that his counsel are changing from prosecutor to persecutor,” an Amber representative told the outlet in response to Johnny’s team’s statement.
